Raja Oedipus

Brian Nai is a multifaceted actor who specializes in performance for stage, screen, stunts, and voiceover. Born and raised in Singapore but now based in LA, he is looking forward to diving in to the diverse industry here to continue sharpening the weapons in his arsenal.

Del Williams is a dynamic theatre artist from Montgomery, AL. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Dillard University and has since cultivated a multifaceted career as an actress, writer, director, and producer. With a deep passion for storytelling, she has brought compelling characters to life on stage while also creating and shaping narratives behind the scenes. Her work spans a range of genres, from thought-provoking dramas to innovative new works. Dedicated to elevating underrepresented voices in theatre, Del continues to make an impact both on and off the stage, bringing authenticity and artistry to every project she undertakes.

Frederick G. Carodine iii is an LA-based actor. He is a recent graduate of California Institute of the Arts. He has been in productions such as: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Love’s Labors Lost. He is truly thankful for this opportunity.

Karolina Kwaśniak (Choragos) is a Polish actress and an alum of the MFA Acting Program at California Institute of the Arts. She works in the field of theater, film, and movement. Theater productions include The Sea Gull (Nina), Fefu and Her Friends (Christina), El Misterio (The Angel). Film credits include Untangling (Szczecin Film Festival), Summer Wedding (Okiwana Cinema at Sea Film Festival) or the upcoming AFI thesis Song of Silence dir. Vasilisa Kuzmina. Karolina holds a BA in Music Production from the Academy of Music in Łódź, a diploma from Baza Acting Studio in Warsaw and a diploma in Opera Singing from F. Chopin State Music School in Warsaw. Maddison Rivera is a SoCal based Mexican American actor. Previous works include an experiment with an air pump (CalArts) and Jimmy Jenkenheimer (Actors Company LA). Special thanks to everyone involved in the production. All the best!

Carlos (The Messenger) is a multi-disciplinary artist with emphasis on acting. While he had played a plethora of different roles such as Cousin Julio in The Motherfucker With The Hat, Charlie in The Calorie Counters, Decius Brutus in Julius Caesar and so many more, he has never quite done something like this before. Oedipus had already been a dream show for him and to bring to life the messenger in this Balinese styled production is such a treat. Ashwath Ram (The Shepard) is an Indian actor based in LA and Chennai. He loves bringing a lot of worldly cultures into his performance practices. He is a graduate of MFA in acting program at CalArts, Los Angeles. He has had experience in an array of film, theater and Voice overs, he has worked with institutions and theater companies such as Hollywood fringe, Theatre movement Bazaar and TEDx. Theater credits include Danton's Death (Hunter Abal), Être, Jouer et Performer (Laurent Berger), Mother courage and her children (Ilse castro), Othello (Mirjana Jokovic), Drip (Morgan Mcdonald), The Overcoat (Tina Kronis). Jaz(mine) Jendersee, also known as jazmycelium, is an experimental vocalist, performer and composer. Based in LA they create original music for solo and ensemble often in theatrical, mutlidisciplinary contexts. A recent Calarts graduate, they have played with Burat Wangi for three years and look forward to more collaboration in music, dance and theater. Jules Evens (Chorus, MFA3) is a composer, sound designer, and visual artist based near LA. His work examines the ambiguous complexities of human identity in the digital age.

Ronen Lilu (Chorus, BFA4) is a vocalist and performer currently attending CalArts. She performs a wide variety of genres, including original music, and enjoys participating in exciting and interesting projects.

Michel Von Loh (Chorus, CalArts BFA 21) is a classically trained guitarist, mandolinist, saz player, arranger and composer who is equally at home in styles ranging from Post-Punk and Experimental Rock to Western European, North Indian, Persian and Arab classical music. As a native of Germany, he began his studies at the University of Music "Franz Liszt" in Weimar, and later continued at California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita. Concerts as a solo guitarist and ensemble member have taken him to various venues across Germany (including the office of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel) as well as Austria (Great Hall of the Viennese Music Association), Italy, Israel, Canada, and the US (including NYC's Carnegie Hall and LA's Walt Disney Concert Hall). He currently teaches privately and at Pasadena Music Academy, and frequently performs with his band "Orchids of Jupiter" and the choirs at First Congregational Church LA and Church of the Good Shepherd Arcadia.

Jeremiah Lamph (Chorus Member, BFA4) is an LA-based Actor, Musician and Performer, and is thrilled to make his debut performance in Los Angeles. He has worked with The Forest Theater Guild, Pacific Repertory Theater, the CMEA Central Coast Section Honor Choir, the CCDA State Honor Choir, and with Honors Performance Series in Sydney, Australia. CalArts School of Theater and Music productions include Seven Deadly Sins and Diva Ex Machina. BFA in VoiceArts Vocal Performance. James is currently a student of California Institute of The Arts in Santa Clarita. He is enrolled in the Experimental Arts program and studying for his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Fina Zhou (Assistant Director) is a LA-based creative producer and theater artist from China. She is thrilled to be part of Raja Oedipus and deeply grateful to join the LA Gamelan Festival in her first year studying with Nanik Wenten and Nyoman Wenten. Fina is especially passionate about cross-cultural and translingual storytelling, and she appreciates how Burat Wangi brings people together through the power of arts. Since moving to LA, she has produced over ten projects across theater, dance, and interdisciplinary performance. Fina holds a BA in Psychology and Communication Arts (Film track) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently pursuing an MFA in Producing at CalArts. More at finazhou.com
